The follow up event to the annual AD White Leadership conference is the Emerging Leaders Experience. The Office of Fraternity & Sorority Affairs (OFSA) and the Tri-Council's calendar has shifted the focus from the current fraternity and sorority leaders to the younger members of the system, as well as the incoming new members.

The Experience, formerly dubbed the Emerging Leaders Retreat, is scheduled over three consecutive weeks in April and will be the first in a series of events geared towards cultivating the next generation of fraternity and sorority leaders.

Taking place weekly in the ILR Conference Center, the event will bring together members from all three contingents of the Cornell fraternity and sorority community for three afternoons of teambuilding and leadership exercises.

The OFSA emphasizes the importance of a good turn out, as not only will this be an action packed afternoon filled with fun and games, but also an opportunity for fraternity and sorority members to familiarize themselves with each other.

Those interested in the event must apply online.  Applications are due Friday, April 2 at midnight and no chapter may bring more than two representatives.

The event is made possible through the generous support of Bob Selander ’72.  Go to http://tiny.cc/EmergingLeadersExp for the application.

Day of Demeter, the annual Day of Service event, will be held on May 1, 2010. The Tri- Council Vice Presidents for University and Community Relations is hard at work planning a day that builds on the successes of previous years.

This year's kickoff event will be held in Duffield Hall and will include breakfast for participants, a keynote speaker, free giveaways, and live music.

Volunteer sites are currently being organized, and should include some past favorites as well as new agencies in the community.

During the event, the Tri-council also hopes to close its Change for Change drive and announce the final funds raised.

Feel free to email Nathaniel Houghton, IFC VP for University and Community Relations with questions, comments, or ideas.

Every year Cornell’s Tri-Council is the proud host of Greek Freak; a stepping show which pits the stepping talents of fraternities & sororities at Cornell and other schools in the form of a competition.

With over 700 people expected to attend, Cornell University’s Greek Freak is the largest step show in upstate New York and has grown to become one of the premier stepping competitions in the North East.

This year’s competition is going to be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the State Street Theatre in Ithaca, NY. Greek Freak prides itself in putting on a spectacular show for the audience, and awarding all its proceeds in the form of multiple book scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the Ithaca area.

Any questions regarding Greek Freak, please email the MGLC VP Programming, Vicente Gonzalez.
